The management of the Osun Amotekun Corps has decorated several senior officers with new ranks in a major move aimed at strengthening leadership structure, discipline, and operational efficiency within the security outfit.

The colourful ceremony, held on Monday, May 25, 2026, at the Headquarters of the Corps in Osogbo, Osun State. The ceremony brought together top government officials, traditional rulers, family members, and other dignitaries who witnessed the long-awaited promotion and rank decoration exercise.

Speaking at the event, the Corps Commander of Osun Amotekun, Dr. Adekunle Isaac Omoyele, described the exercise as a significant milestone for the Corps, adding that the process had experienced delays and setbacks before finally becoming a reality.

According to him, the newly conferred ranks should be seen as a call to greater responsibility rather than symbols of intimidation or superiority.

“The rank you are wearing today is a call to greater responsibility. You must conduct yourselves honourably among your junior officers and members of the public. Leadership comes with accountability, discipline, and selfless service,” he stated.

Dr. Omoyele urged the promoted officers to maintain professionalism, humility, and discipline while discharging their duties across the state.

The Corps Commander also appreciated the Executive Governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke, for his unwavering support toward strengthening the Osun Amotekun Corps, while commending the Chairman of the Osun Amotekun Board, AIG Wale Abbas (Rtd), for his leadership and approval of the exercise.

He further acknowledged the support of the Field Commander, Dr. Olusoji Akanni; the Director of Administration and Supply, Mr. Dayo Adigun; and the Director of Finance and Accounts, Mrs. Grace Omitade, for their unalloyed contributions to the growth and successes recorded by the Corps.

Dr. Omoyele disclosed that another phase of the rank decoration exercise for Local Government Commanders and some officers at the Corps Headquarters would take place the following Monday.

In his remarks, the Field Commander of the Corps, Dr. Olusoji Akanni, described the promoted officers as hardworking and dedicated personnel whose sacrifices over the past five years had contributed immensely to the operational success of the Corps.

He advised the officers to use their new positions to mentor and guide junior officers rather than intimidate them.

“The responsibility given to you today is not to intimidate junior officers, but to guide, mentor, and correct them appropriately,” he said.

Also speaking, the Legal Adviser of the Corps, Barrister Oyedele Akintayo, warned the newly promoted officers against abusing their positions or engaging in unnecessary confrontations with members of the public and other security agencies.

He urged them to remain professional and law-abiding in line with the principles guiding the establishment of the Corps.

Similarly, the Ambassador Provost of the Corps, CSP Joshua Omogbehin, cautioned officers against maltreatment of subordinates, stressing that any act of indiscipline would attract sanctions in accordance with the rules and regulations of the Corps.

Among dignitaries present at the ceremony were the wife of the Corps Commander, Rev. Apostle Mother Mrs. Omolola Omoyele; royal fathers from different parts of the state; the Special Adviser to the Governor on Tourism, Hon. Oyewole; and other senior officials of the Corps.

Delivering the vote of thanks on behalf of the decorated officers, ACA Ojetunde Isaac expressed appreciation to the leadership of the Corps for the successful conduct of the exercise and assured that the beneficiaries would justify the confidence reposed in them through dedicated and professional service.

The officers decorated with new ranks include ACA Ilori John, ACA Nana Fatimo, ACA Adepoju Samuel, ACA Bamigbade Daniel, ACA Gbadamosi Sherrif, ACA Asimiyu Abiodun Akomola, ACA Akintola Michael, ACA Ajala Moronkola, ACA Olayiwola Taoheed Alao, ACA Ojetunde Isaac, ACA Komolafe Kunle, ACA Adigun Khalid, CSA Yusuf Idowu Abass, CSA Olagunju Joseph, CSA Adeniyi Adesola Brown, CSA Adeagbo Damilare, SA Adeosun Tajudeen, SA Fashola David, and SA Adebayo Martins.

The event ended with goodwill messages, prayers for the promoted officers, and renewed commitment toward ensuring effective community security across Osun State.
