The Independent National Electoral Commission has officially released the personal particulars of all governorship candidates and their running mates contesting the forthcoming election in Osun State.
The electoral umpire made the disclosure in line with statutory requirements, allowing the public, political parties, and civil society organisations to scrutinise the academic records, work history, and other submitted documents of the contenders.
According to the commission, the publication, commonly displayed on Form EC9, enables transparency and gives citizens the opportunity to raise objections where necessary, as provided under the Electoral Act.
INEC noted that the particulars have been pasted at its state and local government offices across Osun state, urging members of the public to carefully review the documents and submit any petitions within the stipulated legal timeframe.
Political observers say the move marks the formal commencement of the most critical pre-election phase, as parties intensify campaigns while opponents examine submitted credentials for possible discrepancies.
The governorship election in Osun is expected to attract significant attention, with major parties already mobilising supporters across the state ahead of polling day.
