President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Saturday, 23rd May,2026 emerged victorious in the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential primary election held in Osun State, securing a landslide victory with 100,888 votes against his co-contender, Stanley Osayamen Osifor, who polled zero vote.
The primary election, conducted across the 30 local government areas of Osun State and Modakeke Area Office, formed part of the nationwide exercise by the ruling APC to elect its presidential flag-bearer ahead of the 2027 general election.
While declaring the results in Osogbo, the Osun State Returning Officer for the presidential primary and Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, announced that President Tinubu secured all the votes cast by accredited party members who participated in the exercise.
According to the former Governor, out of the 109,806 digitally registered APC members in Osun State, 100,888 accredited members took part in the primary election and all voted in favour of President Tinubu.
“By the powers vested in me as the Osun State Coordinator and Returning Officer for Osun State Presidential Primary Election, I hereby declare His Excellency Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, as the winner of the All Progressives Congress Presidential Primary Election 2026 in Osun State having polled 100,888 votes to defeat Mr Stanley Osayamen Osifor, the co-contender in the primary,” Oyetola declared.
He commended party members for what he described as their steadfastness, loyalty and commitment to democratic values, stressing that the peaceful conduct of the exercise across the state demonstrated the unity and internal cohesion within the APC.
Oyetola further stated that the massive turnout recorded during the exercise reflected the confidence of party members in the leadership and Renewed Hope Agenda of President Tinubu.
“The peaceful conduct witnessed across the thirty local government areas of Osun State, including the Ife-East Area Office, is a testament to the enduring strength and unity of our party,” he said.
“The successful primary held today reinforces the position of the APC in Osun as a united, focused and forward-looking political family fully committed to the continued progress, stability and development of Nigeria under the purposeful leadership of President Tinubu.”
Earlier, the APC governorship candidate for the forthcoming Osun governorship election, Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, popularly known as AMBO, expressed satisfaction with the peaceful and hitch-free conduct of the primary election in the state.
Oyebamiji praised party leaders and members for turning out in large numbers to participate in the exercise, describing the outcome as a clear demonstration of support for President Tinubu’s second-term bid.
The exercise was monitored by officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission, security agencies, members of the press and other concerned observers.
