The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), in collaboration with corps members and the Voter Education Desk Officer in Osogbo Local Government, has intensified its grassroots sensitization campaign ahead of the next electoral cycle.

The exercise, which featured an advocacy visit to Orisunmibare Market, created a platform for direct engagement with traders, artisans, and shoppers. Market women welcomed the outreach, which provided them with on-the-spot voter-related services such as transfers, replacement of lost Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), and correction of defaced cards.

Similarly, the team also stormed the Keke NAPEP Park at Testing Ground Junction, interacting with riders and residents. The Corps members, alongside INEC staff, stressed the importance of civic responsibility, urging eligible voters to ensure their details are up to date in the electoral register.

Speaking during the exercise, the Voter Education Desk Officer noted that the initiative was part of INEC’s strategy to bring services closer to the people and reduce voter apathy.

Community members expressed their profound appreciation for the intervention, describing it as timely and people-oriented.

With this outreach, INEC and its partners reaffirmed their commitment to deepening democratic participation and ensuring that no eligible voter in Osogbo is left behind.
