The Governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke, will on Wednesday inaugurate a 52-member Imole Campaign Council as part of a strategic push toward the August 15, 2026 governorship election.
The body, officially named the Imole Campaign Council 2026 (TICC), is positioned as the apex organ of the governor’s re-election machinery, with responsibility for shaping campaign strategy, coordinating political operations, and driving grassroots mobilization across the state.
According to details released ahead of the event, the council is expected to deliver “visionary leadership, strategic direction, and integrated coordination” to secure a decisive electoral victory for the incumbent administration.
The council will be chaired by Professor Wale Ladipo, Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Council at Osun State University, while the Senate Minority Leader, Kamorudeen Lere Oyewumi, has been appointed Director General. The Osun State Commissioner for Information, Kolapo Alimi, will serve as Deputy Director General.
Also named in key roles are Barrister Pelumi Olajengbesi as spokesperson and Hon. Prince Bola Ajao as Secretary.
Further reinforcing the structure, the lawmaker representing Ede North/Ede South/Egbedore/Ejigbo Federal Constituency, Bamidele Salam, will head the Media and Publicity Committee, while former Secretary to the Osun State Government, Moshood Adeoti, will oversee Inter-Party Relations alongside 29 other standing committees.
At the federal level, the campaign will operate through the Imole Federal Constituency Campaign Committee (TIFCCC) across all nine constituencies, comprising party executives, lawmakers, commissioners, and local government leaders.
Complementing this structure, the Imole Local Government Campaign Committee (TILGCC) will be deployed across all 30 local government areas and the area office, while the Imole Ward Campaign Committee (TIWCC) will be established in all 332 wards to drive grassroots engagement.
The council is mandated to function as the highest decision-making body of the campaign, overseeing planning, execution, and evaluation of all campaign programmes, while ensuring cohesion and discipline across the multi-layered political structure.
It will also coordinate operations spanning federal constituencies, local governments, wards, diaspora networks, and polling units, aiming for a unified and integrated campaign approach.
Political observers say the move signals an early and methodical buildup to the 2026 governorship election, with the Adeleke camp placing strong emphasis on organization, message discipline, and grassroots penetration.
The inauguration is expected to formally trigger heightened political activities across Osun State as the race for the governorship gathers momentum.
