The appointments, which reflect the governor’s drive to consolidate development and improve service delivery, place seasoned professionals in charge of ministries considered vital to the state’s progress.
Leading the list is Mr. Tonye Bellgam, who has been assigned the Special Duties portfolio, a role expected to coordinate special government initiatives and projects requiring direct executive oversight.
In the Works Ministry, Professor Temple Nwofor will oversee infrastructure development and the implementation of road and public works projects across the state.
The crucial Education Ministry will be led by Dr. Peters Nwagor, who is expected to steer reforms aimed at improving the quality of learning and strengthening the state’s education system.
Meanwhile, Mr. Lekue Kenneth takes charge of the Finance and Budget Ministry, where he will be responsible for fiscal management, budgeting, and ensuring financial discipline in government operations.
Completing the list is Sir Amairigha Edward Hart, who will head the Urban Development and Physical Planning Ministry, a key department tasked with guiding sustainable city growth, urban planning, and development control.
Political observers say the strategic allocation of portfolios signals Governor Fubara’s commitment to assembling a capable team to drive his administration’s agenda of development and good governance.
