The 2025 edition of Osun Digital Media Week, slated for this week shows that top government officials, traditional rulers, political leaders and media stakeholders gearing up for the big event.
Organised by the Osun Online Publishers Association (OOPA) under the leadership of Mukhtar Ajelogbon, this year’s edition will feature a public lecture and free medical check-up on Thursday, 4th December 2025, bringing together key actors in governance, technology, media and civic engagement.
Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, is expected to lead other top government functionaries to the event, while His Royal Majesty, Oba (Dr) Adekunle Oyelude Makama (CON), the Olowu of Kuta, will serve as the Father of the Day, adding royal depth and cultural prestige to the gathering while the General Manager of Osun CSDA, Mrs Funmi Abokede, serves as the Mother of the Day.
Also expected are the Secretary to the Osun State Government, Chief Bobagunwa of Osogboland, Hon. Teslim Igbalaye, and the Osun State Commissioner for Youth, Hon. Moshood Olagunju, are billed to speak on digital integration and public engagement in a technology-driven era.
The event will further host key political and administrative figures, including All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship aspirants, Kunle Rasheed Adegoke (SAN), popularly known as K-Rad, and Asiwaju Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO); as well as African Democratic Congress (ADC) governorship aspirant, Dr Saliu Aroleorisun.
Also scheduled to attend are the Managing Director of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), Hon. Olalekan Badmus (Omo-Oloore), and the National Secretary of the ADC and former Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, who are expected to bring perspectives from public administration, representation and local governance.
According to the organisers, the 2025 edition will focus on “Artificial Intelligence, Technology and Credible Elections”, aligning with emerging global realities and Nigeria’s rapidly evolving digital media ecosystem.
The lecture will be delivered by the Osun State Resident Electoral Commissioner, Dr Mutiu Agboke.
With the calibre of attendees and the strategic relevance of its theme, this year’s Osun Digital Media Week is projected to set a new benchmark for digital media engagement in Osun State and the wider Southwest region.
Other activities lined up for the Week include a press conference, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) outreach, and a refresher course for members of the Osun Online Publishers Association.
