…Tasks Tinubu on Troop Motivation, Seeks Trump’s Intelligence Support Against Terrorists
The Olowu of Kuta, HRM Oba Dr. Hammeed Adekunle Makama Oyelude, CON, Tegbosun III, has called on Nigerians to rise above political, ethnic, and religious differences and unite in defense of the nation amid growing concerns over alleged Christian genocide reports.
Speaking at the 35th edition of the annual Kuta Day celebration on Saturday, 8th November, 2025, the revered monarch stressed that patriotism and unity are essential at this critical time to preserve Nigeria’s sovereignty and defeat terrorism.
According to the monarch, “Irrespective of political leaning and affiliation, this is the time to show our patriotic zeal. We must all bear in mind that we must have a country first before thinking of any ambition.”
Oba Oyelude lauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for improving the welfare of military personnel since assumption of office in May 29, 2023, but urged him to do even more to boost the morale and operational effectiveness of Nigeria’s armed forces.
He also commended the newly appointed Service Chiefs for swiftly assuming duty after their Senate confirmation but reminded them of the urgency of the national security challenges before them.
“Your appointment comes at a defining moment in our national history,” he said. “All resources, human and material must now be put to the best use to end insurgency and restore lasting peace.”
In a global appeal, Oba Oyelude urged U.S. President Donald Trump to assist Nigeria by sharing “actionable intelligence and usable platforms” that could help in neutralizing terrorist networks and ending insurgency across the country.
The monarch’s remarks came against the backdrop of renewed debates on alleged targeted attacks against Christians in parts of Nigeria, a narrative he cautioned Nigerians to handle with patriotic sensitivity and unity of purpose.
“We must not allow divisive narratives to tear us apart. This is the time to defend our nation with one voice and a common spirit,” he declared.
