Veteran Nollywood star actress, Clarion Chukwurah has taken a firm stand against individuals she said are spreading falsehoods about her on social media.
The 61-year-old screen angle, in a strongly worded Instagram post, condemned what she described as a troubling trend of misinformation, blackmail, and witch hunts in Nigeria’s online media space. “I never cease to wonder how it became so bad in Nigeria that online media has become an acceptable platform to misinform, witch-hunt, blackmail, broadcast outright lies, and just wish evil on others,” she wrote.
She accused her critics of being “miserable” people who cannot bear to see others succeed, referring to them directly, she warned the “unfortunate specimens” coming after her that she is untouchable, drawing strength from her Christian faith. Quoting scriptures including Isaiah 54:15–17 and Genesis 12:3, she emphasized that no one can curse who God has blessed.
“I have come this far not by my own power because I have no power of my own, but by the Word of the Lord… In Jesus Christ, I am secured and remain strong,” the actress declared.
Chukwurah, who has remained a prominent figure in Nollywood for decades, ended her message with a reminder that “Jesus Christ is Lord.”
