MultiChoice Nigeria has slashed the price of its DStv decoder by 50%, from 20,000 naira to 10,000 naira, in a bid to attract more customers and curb declining subscriptions. This move is part of the company’s “We Got You” campaign, aimed at making premium content more accessible and showcasing DStv’s diverse offerings beyond football.
The decoder price reduction is a response to the economic challenges faced by Nigerians, with the company seeking to make its services more affordable.
Subscribers who pay for their current plan in full between June 16 and July 31, 2025, will receive a free upgrade to the next DStv package tier.
MultiChoice Nigeria lost 1.4million subscribers between March 2023 and March 2025, prompting the company to revisit its pricing strategy.
The company had increased its DStv and GOtv bouquet prices three times within 12 months prior to the recent price cut.
The price reduction is a response to the noticeable economic impact on Nigerians, with inflation soaring and competition heating up in the
pay-TV market.
MultiChoice aims to reward customer loyalty and deliver enhanced value to subscribers through this initiative.
