President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has recalled Mr. Salihu Abdullahi Dembos as the Director-General of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), reversing the recent shake-up in the leadership of the state broadcaster.

Dembos, who was first appointed in October 2023, had briefly stepped aside following new appointments announced last week. With the President’s directive, he will now complete his three-year tenure.

Again, Mr. Ayo Adewuyi has been reinstated as Executive Director of News. Adewuyi, who was appointed in 2024, will remain in office until the expiration of his tenure in 2027.

This decision of the President nullifies the newly announced appointments of a Director-General, Executive Director of News, Executive Director of Marketing, as well as the Managing Director of NTA Enterprises.

According to a statement by Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu’s action underscores his commitment to “continuity and respect for the tenures of duly appointed officials.”
