The President, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has nominated Mr. Taiwo Oyedele, Chairman of the Presidential Committee on Fiscal Policy and Tax Reform, as the new Minister of State for Finance.

The nomination, which has been formally transmitted to the Nigerian Senate for confirmation, will see Oyedele replace Dr. Doris Uzoka-Anite in the Finance Ministry.

According to official sources, Dr. Uzoka-Anite is set to assume a new role as Minister of State at the Federal Ministry of Budget and National Planning, marking her third ministerial portfolio under the current administration.

Oyedele, a respected fiscal policy expert and tax reform advocate, has played a key role in shaping the administration’s tax reform agenda. His nomination is seen as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen fiscal management and drive comprehensive tax reforms aimed at boosting revenue generation and economic stability.

The Senate is expected to commence screening proceedings in the coming days.

If confirmed, Oyedele’s appointment will further consolidate the administration’s economic reform team as it continues to pursue structural adjustments in Nigeria’s fiscal and budgeting framework.
