President Bola Tinubu has arrived at the Umaru Musa Yaradua International Airport in Katsina to attend the state burial of former President Muhammadu Buhari.
He was received by top government officials, including Governor Dikko Radda of Katsina State, former Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and National Assembly members.
Former President Buhari’s remains arrived at the Umaru Musa Yar’adua Airport in Katsina State around 1:58 pm on Tuesday, conveyed on a Nigerian Air Force aircraft.
A brief military ceremony will be held at the airport before the body is moved to Daura for final Islamic burial rites.
The Jana’iza will take place after the ceremony, followed by interment at the late President’s residence in Daura.
In honouring the departed Patriot, condolence registers have been opened across all Federal Ministries, Departments and Agencies, as well as Nigerian embassies and missions abroad.
In commensurating with Nigeria government and the people of Nigeria, World leaders have sent condolence messages, testifying to Buhari’s global stature and legacy.
