President Bola Tinubu paid tribute to the late Awujale of Ijebuland, Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona, describing him as an embodiment of integrity, humility, culture, dedication, and service to humanity. Speaking at the eighth-day prayer for the late monarch in Ijebu Ode, Ogun State.
President Tinubu extolled Oba Adetona’s virtues, noting that he was a pride of the Yoruba race and left behind legacies worthy of emulation.
He praised Oba Adetona as a worthy leader, bold, courageous, and truthful.
President Tinubu recalled the support and blessings he received from the late Oba during his tenure as Governor of Lagos State and in the run-up to his presidency.
President Tinubu emphasized the need to honour Oba Adetona’s legacy by being more united and appreciating the values he represented.
The President was accompanied by the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, and several governors, senators, and ministers on his condolence visit.
Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State thanked President Tinubu for his presence, highlighting Oba Adetona’s numerous contributions to Ijebuland, Ogun State, and Nigeria.
