Comrade Omole Oluwasegun Omo-Osodi, founder of the Atunluse Asoludero Movement, has taken a swipe at a group identified as Concerned Citizens of Osun, describing it as “faceless and politically sponsored” following its criticism of Senator Francis Fadahunsi over comments on the Osun Amotekun Corps.

In a strongly worded statement issued on Saturday, 11th October, 2025, Omole accused the Osun State Government of exploiting disenchanted citizens to advance political propaganda, warning against what he termed “the politics of bitterness” in the state.

“My attention has been drawn to a faceless and sponsored group that launched baseless attacks against Senator Francis Fadahunsi under the guise of condemning his remarks on Amotekun,” Omole stated. “Ordinarily, I would not have responded to such entities, but for the sake of my well-informed constituents, I feel compelled to speak.”

The activist alleged that under Governor Ademola Adeleke’s administration, the Amotekun Corps has become “a haven for criminals and thugs,” accusing the outfit of multiple extrajudicial killings and unchecked violence across Osun communities.

“It is laughable and deeply disturbing that any reasonable group would defend the current Amotekun, which has been killing and terrorizing innocent Osun citizens since its inception under the present leadership,” he said.

Omole cited several violent incidents, including the killing of eleven persons in Ido-Ayegunle during the February local government crisis, four deaths in Ilesa, and one in Ikire, as well as the Esa-Oke Obaship conflict that claimed four lives. He also referenced recent unrest in Akinlalu, Ife North, where four persons reportedly died and eight were hospitalized after an alleged Amotekun operation.

He therefore called on the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, to order the immediate arrest of the Osun Amotekun Commander, whom he accused of having “an outstanding murder charge,” and to transfer him to Abuja for thorough investigation.

“Senator Fadahunsi, who represents Osun East and remains the highest political officeholder in the area, will not sit idle while thugs endanger the lives of his constituents,” Omole said. “He is the true voice of the masses and cannot be silenced by intimidation.”

While responding to the group’s claim “the people of Osun stand firmly behind Amotekun, a symbol of homegrown security and community trust,” Omole fired back: “Who else but their paymasters and co-conspirators stand behind murderers?”

The Concerned Citizens of Osun had described Fadahunsi as “a pretender seeking self-glorification,” Omole countered that the senator is “an institution on his own, a man whose voice commands respect in Osun and across Nigeria’s political space.”

He urged the Osun State Government and the PDP to “stop dragging the state into unnecessary tension and political theatrics,” insisting that security should not be turned into a partisan weapon.
