In a communication issued to its clientele on Monday, the company announced that the new pricing structure will commence on March 1, 2025. The company stated that the recent price assessment will increase the DStv Compact bouquet from N15,700 to N19,000, marking a 25% rise.
The Compact Plus package will also see an increase from N25,000 to N30,000, which constitutes a 20% rise. For the top-tier package, DStv Premium, the firm indicated that the subscription fee will increase from N37,000 to N44,500, also representing a 20% rise.
The notification titled, “Price adjustments for DStv and GOtv packages,” states: “Dear Customer, please note that effective 1 March 2025, there will be a price adjustment on all DStv packages.”
“This is to enable us to continue to offer our customers world-class home-grown and international content, delivered through the best technology.”
This announcement came after a similar price increase that took place in May of last year, which the company attributed to inflation and increasing operational costs in Nigeria.
New GOtv pricing details indicate that customers on the Jinja package will see their fees rise from N3,600 to N3,900, while the cost for the GOtv Jolli will increase from N4,850 to N5,800.
The GOtv Max package will now be priced at N8,500, up from the previous N7,200, and the GOtv Supa will now be available for N11,400 instead of the former N9,600.
The GOtv Supa Plus package is set to be priced at N16,800, up from the previous N15,700. MultiChoice, which owns both DStv and GOtv, stated that the rise in price is a result of the escalating costs of doing business in Nigeria. They highlighted issues such as currency devaluation, with the naira losing substantial value, and soaring inflation that has increased their operational costs.
