In a moving show of love and commitment to education, HRM Oba Johnson Adekanmi Abikoye, the AsaOoni of Ora Igbomina, a proud alumnus of St. Stephen’s Anglican Primary School, Ora-Igbomina, has donated 100 school uniforms to pupils of the historic institution, reaffirming his dedication to uplifting the next generation.

The event, which took place at the school premises, drew admiration from teachers, pupils, and community leaders who described the gesture as both inspiring and deeply symbolic.

Speaking at the presentation, Oba Abikoye expressed profound joy at the opportunity to give back to his alma mater, which he described as the foundation of his lifelong pursuit of excellence.

“I am a proud product of this great citadel of learning,” he said. “Facilitating the donation of these uniforms gives me great joy. It is my humble contribution to the progress of our alma mater and a means of supporting indigent pupils, so that no child is left behind due to lack of proper school attire.”

Founded in 1912, St. Stephen’s Anglican Primary School, Ora-Igbomina, holds a special place in the history of education in the region as the first school established in the entire Igbomina land. Over the years, it has produced very outstanding individuals who have served at the various capacities both at home and in diaspora.

While speaking, the Head Teacher of the school, commended Oba Johnson Adekanmi Abikoye for the thoughtful intervention, opined that the donation would not only boost pupils’ morale but also promote uniformity and discipline in the school. She further called on other old students and well-meaning individuals in the community to emulate this example by supporting the school while development last long.

Also appreciating the gesture, community leaders as well as parents who present at the event described the donation as a reflection of humility, gratitude, and commitment to community growth.

Oba Adekanmi Abikoye’s donation, they said, stands as a shining example of how individuals can contribute meaningfully to educational development, a legacy that will inspire future generations to remember their roots and uplift others.

According to him “Education remains the greatest investment anyone can make in the life of a child,” Oba Abikoye added. “And giving back to where it all began is both an honour and a duty.”

Looking ahead, Oba Abikoye revealed plans to extend his educational support initiatives by exploring scholarship opportunities, infrastructural assistance, and mentorship programmes for brilliant but less privileged pupils in Ora-Igbomina and its environs.

He reaffirmed his belief that empowering young minds through education remains the surest legacy to community development and sustainable growth, pledging continued partnership with stakeholders to sustain the legacy of St. Stephen’s Anglican Primary School for generations to come.
