The Surveyor General of the Federation, Surv. Abuduganiyu Adebomehin, has revealed that Nigerian surveyors are making a significant impact abroad. He emphasized the importance of young surveyors staying up-to-date with modern technologies and acquiring necessary skills to excel in the profession.
According to him, Young surveyors should prioritize acquiring knowledge and training to keep up with the profession’s modern realities.
“When working abroad, Nigerian surveyors should be prepared to apply their skills immediately, as they won’t have time to learn on the job” said Adebomehin.
He said that Surveyors should think like businesspeople, understanding the business side of surveying to remain relevant and avoid being undervalued by clients.
The Young Surveyors Network (FCT) branch visited the Office of the Surveyor General to Strengthen their skills and knowledge through mentorship and capacity building, to understand the modus operandi of surveying and assess the office’s physical infrastructure and to learn from the wealth of knowledge and experience of the Surveyor General and his team.
