Retired police officers braved the rain to protest at the National Assembly gate in Abuja on Monday, July 21, 2025.
They’re demanding to be removed from the Contributory Pension Scheme, which they claim is exploitative and unjust as well as better welfare and dignity for retired police officers
A 67-year-old retired Chief Superintendent of Police, CSP Manir Lawal (retd.), spoke out, saying, “We have served this country faithfully and deserve to retire in dignity.”
The protesters stood firm in the rain, vowing not to leave until their concerns are addressed by the National Assembly leadership.
