The Security operatives have arrested the traditional ruler of Alabe and his queen after large sums of money suspected to be proceeds of banditry were discovered in their possession.
According to security sources, a raid on the Alabe palace led to the recovery of over N90 million in cash, while an additional N30 million was reportedly traced to the queen’s personal bank account.
Investigators believe the funds are linked to recent cases of kidnapping and armed banditry in the region.
The royal couple has been taken into custody for further questioning as part of ongoing investigations.
In a related development, the monarch of Babanla and his queens were also arrested over similar allegations of aiding criminal networks.
Details of the operation remain sketchy, but security operatives confirmed that both rulers are under interrogation.
The development has unsettled local communities, where suspicion of banditry has long been directed at herders.
Authorities say the arrests highlight a broader network of collaborators, including individuals in positions of traditional authority.
