Nigerian celebrity Chef, Hilda Baci, has once again written her name in history as Guinness World Records (GWR) officially recognised her for preparing the largest serving of Nigerian-style jollof rice.
According to a statement shared on its official X account, GWR announced that “New record: Largest serving of Nigerian-style jollof rice, 8,780 kg (19,356 lb 9 oz) achieved by Hilda Baci and Gino in Victoria Island, Lagos, Nigeria.”
The feat was achieved on September 12, 2025, during a grand culinary event tagged the ‘Gino World Jollof Festival with Hilda Baci’, held at the Eko Hotels and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos. The festival pulled thousands of attendees and set social media abuzz with excitement.
Hilda Baci, who gained global recognition in 2023 after breaking the Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon, has once again reaffirmed her status as one of Nigeria’s most celebrated chefs.
Amongst the prominent dignitaries at the event, including the Nollywood star, Funke Akindele, media personalities Enioluwa Adeoluwa and Tomike Adeoye, Pastor Idowu, as well as Bamidele Abiodun, wife of the Ogun State Governor, all showing support for the chef’s latest record-breaking achievement.
With this milestone, Baci continues to inspire millions of Nigerians while showcasing the richness of the country’s culinary heritage on the global circle.
