Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke and the state’s Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leadership have officially endorsed President Bola Tinubu for re-election in 2027.

This move comes after rumors of Adeleke’s potential defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC), which were reportedly met with resistance from key APC members in Osun State.

The endorsement was formalized during a stakeholders’ meeting at the Government House in Osogbo, where Adeleke and top PDP leaders reaffirmed their commitment to the PDP and backed Tinubu’s re-election bid.

The communique cited Osun State being Tinubu’s “ancestral home”, making him a “son of Osun State”.

Governor Adeleke however reaffirmed his commitment to the PDP and his Five-Point Agenda.

The Osun PDP at the meeting unanimously endorsed Adeleke for re-election in 2026. This endorsement highlights growing bipartisan respect for Tinubu’s leadership in Osun State.

This development is seen as a significant shift in Nigeria’s political landscape, potentially redefining traditional party loyalties ahead of the 2027 elections.
