The Lagos State Police Command has arrested four individuals suspected of running a 500 million naira visa scam that targeted over 100 Nigerians.

The Suspects are Blessing Wefsutu (27), Chineye Christian (36), Archibong Udeme Ifereke (23), and Maurine Peter (25). They were apprehended by operatives of the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID).

The suspects allegedly lured victims with false promises of securing Canadian and Australian work visas, fraudulently obtaining 500 million naira from over 100 unsuspecting victims.

The suspects were arrested at their educational consultancy firm in Ago Okota, Lagos.

The police are continuing their investigation, with efforts ongoing to apprehend additional accomplices who are currently on the run.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Olohundare Jimoh, urged the public to exercise due diligence when engaging with travel and recruitment agencies to avoid falling victim to such scams.
