President Bola Tinubu has departed Saint Lucia for Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, to attend the 2025 BRICS Summit.
During his week-long visit to Saint Lucia, Tinubu held high-level meetings with local leaders, including Governor General Cyril Errol Charles and Prime Minister Philip Pierre.
Tinubu will join three other African leaders attending the 17th BRICS Summit in Rio de Janeiro, including the leaders of Egypt, Ethiopia, and South Africa.
Tinubu’s visit to Saint Lucia aimed to strengthen regional partnerships and cooperation with member nations of the Organisation of the Eastern Caribbean States.
Tinubu addressed a joint session of the Senate and House of Assembly, emphasizing the importance of regional partnerships.
The BRICS Summit provides a platform for Tinubu to engage with world leaders on economic cooperation and development.
The summit will discuss global issues, including economic development, trade, and security.
