The former World Boxing Champion, Ricky Hatton has died at the age of 46, just weeks after announcing a surprise comeback to the ring.

Hatton, a. k. a.“The Hitman” who became one of Britain’s most beloved fighters, found dead at his home in Hyde, Greater Manchester, on Sunday 13th September, 2025 early in the morning.

According to the Manchester Police statement which confirmed his death. The Police said “Officers were called by a member of the public to attend Bowlacre Road, Hyde, Tameside, at 6:45 am today where they found the body of a 46-year-old man. There are not currently believed to be any suspicious circumstances.”

Hatton’s career spanned from 1997 to 2012, during which he held multiple world and UK titles and built a huge following for his fearless style in the ring.

He is survived by his son Campbell, who has followed him into boxing, his two daughters Millie and Fearne, and a granddaughter, Lyla.
