The Governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has hailed the recommendation of Hon. Justice Joseph Olubunmi Kayode Oyewole for appointment to the Supreme Court of Nigeria, describing the elevation as a proud moment for the state and a strong affirmation of the jurist’s integrity and competence.
Justice Oyewole, an Osun-born jurist, was recently recommended by the National Judicial Council (NJC) for appointment to the apex court, a development Governor Adeleke said reflects years of exemplary service and commitment to the rule of law.
In a congratulatory message contained in Press Release, issued on Thursday, 15th January, 2026, by the Spokesperson to the governor, Mallam Olawale Rasheed, Adeleke praised Justice Oyewole as an embodiment of integrity whose wealth of judicial experience will further strengthen justice delivery at Nigeria’s highest court.
“I heartily congratulate Hon. Justice Joseph Olubunmi Kayode Oyewole on his appointment to the bench of the Apex Court. Hon. Justice Oyewole is an embodiment of integrity and his commitment to justice is unparalleled,” Adeleke said.
The governor noted that the elevation is not only a personal achievement for the jurist but also a source of pride for the people of Osun State, addmitting that his antecedents on the bench over more than two decades inspire confidence in his ability to excel at the Supreme Court.
“His elevation to the bench of Nigeria’s topmost court is a proud moment for us in Osun. On behalf of the good people of the state, I celebrate this remarkable achievement. Going by his antecedents in effectively and dispassionately dispensing justice, I have no iota of doubt that he will excel in this new role,” the governor added.
Governor Adeleke further prayed for divine guidance for Justice Oyewole as he assumes the new responsibility, urging him to continue to uphold the highest standards of fairness, integrity, and justice in the discharge of his duties.
