The Borno State Governor, Professor Babagana Umar Zulum, has declared Monday, 24th November, 2025 as a day of state-wide prayers for the restoration of peace in Borno State and Nigeria as a whole.
This declaration comes against the backdrop of persistent security and socio-economic challenges affecting the state and the country, which he described as “too hot” for citizens.
According to the message, the special prayer day is intended to unite residents of Borno, irrespective of religious or ethnic differences, in seeking divine intervention for lasting peace, stability, and progress.
Government officials, religious leaders, traditional rulers, community heads and all residents of the state are expected to participate in the prayers, which will be held in mosques, churches and designated centres across the 27 local government areas of Borno State.
Governor Zulum urged the people to use the opportunity to pray fervently for the end of insecurity, for the comfort of families who have lost loved ones, and for the restoration of normalcy in all parts of the state and the country.
He also called on citizens to remain hopeful, united, and law-abiding, stressing that with sincere prayers, collective effort, and the help of God, peace and development will return to Borno and Nigeria.
