In preparation for his 10th coronation anniversary, the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, has roll out the programmes of events to include an international cultural festival, scheduled from November 30 to December 7, 2025, in Ile-Ife.
Announcing the event at a press briefing, Queen Aderonke Ademiluyi-Ogunwusi revealed the theme: “10 Years of Aṣé: A Reign of Peace, Culture and Unity.”
The weeklong celebration according to Oba Ogunwusi, will feature cultural showcases including a Yoruba food festival, fashion exhibitions, traditional sports, a royal gala night, and a fireworks and drone display narrating Yoruba history. A cultural film titled “The Journey to Ife: A Renewal of Culture” will also premiere, alongside the Yoruba Drama, Arts and Film Festival.
Oba Ogunwusi described the anniversary as a global gathering to promote Yoruba heritage, Pan-African unity, and socio-economic development. Delegates are expected from across Africa and the diaspora, including Brazil, Uganda, Ghana, and Cuba.
A spiritual climax will be the mystical procession of 401 Ifa deities, highlighting the sacred traditions of the Yoruba people.
Oba Ogunwusi, ascended the throne on December 7, 2015, spent the past decade championing peace, cultural preservation, economic empowerment, and global cultural exchanges.
