The Lagos State Government has launched a 101-day initiative tagged “101 Days in Lagos” aimed at positioning the state as a year-round tourism destination while boosting revenue for stakeholders in hospitality, entertainment, and the creative industry.
The festival, scheduled to run from September 26, 2025, to January 4, 2026, will feature cultural showcases, music and fashion festivals, sporting competitions, art exhibitions, and food fairs across multiple venues.
Special Adviser to the Governor on Tourism, Arts and Culture, Idris Aregbe, who unveiled the programme during a meeting with Pulse Africa, said the initiative will empower youths through skills development, attract international partnerships, and promote Lagos as Africa’s cultural hub.
Highlights of events include the “Skills Up Lagos” programme for training young people in tourism, hospitality, and event management.
Pulse Africa CEO, Katharina Link, and Awari/Lost in Lagos’ Ms. Tanaz both pledged collaboration to spotlight Lagos’ creative pulse and enhance global cultural appeal.
The government believes the initiative will not only enrich the city’s cultural life but also strengthen and add value to trade, tourism, and Lagos’ international reputation as a cultural power house.
