Osun public servants on Thursday trooped out in their thousands for an Appreciation Solidarity Rally in support of Governor Ademola Adeleke, commending his unwavering commitment to workers’ welfare since assuming office in 2022.

The rally that started at about 8:00 a.m. was led by the Head of Service, Elder Ayanleye Aina, gathered at the State Secretariat gate with singing and dancing in celebration of the Governor’s pro-labour policies.

Having arrived of the Governor Adeleke, the workers moved from the Secretariat gate to the Governor’s office where the Labour Leaders Endorsed Governor’s Second term.

The Chairman of the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC), Osun State Chapter, Comrade Christopher Arapasopo, reaffirmed workers’ endorsement of the Governor for a second term, describing Adeleke’s administration as “a workers’ government”.

“We assemble here to thank you for all you do for workers. You are one of us – a leader who cares deeply for us. Let the whole world know that Osun workers remain firmly behind our Governor now and always,” Arapasopo declared.

In his remark, the State Chairman of the Trade Union Congress (TUC), Comrade Bimbo Fasasi, stressed the consistency of the Governor Adeleke’s administration in addressing the workers’ needs and aspirations.

“We reject any attempt to drag Osun back to the past. We are here in our thousands to show that we are solidly behind Mr. Governor,” Fasasi affirmed.

The Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), Comrade Kehinde Ogungbangbe, commended the Governor for protecting local government workers amid ongoing challenges with federal allocations.

“We thank Mr Governor for continuously paying workers’ salaries despite the seizure of local government allocations, saying that if APC were to be the party in power, salaries would have been stopped,” Ogungbangbe stated.

While speaking at the event, the Chairman of the Joint Negotiation Committee, Comrade Lekan Adediran, declared that Osun workers are united in their endorsement of Governor Adeleke for a second term.

The number one civil servant in Osun State, Elder Leye Aina, who mobilised the workforce for the rally, expressed deep appreciation for the Governor’s consistent prioritisation of workers’ welfare.

“Your Excellency, you are not only delivering good governance for Osun people, you are also ensuring dividends of democracy for workers across all ministries and agencies,” said the HOS.

In his response, Governor Adeleke described the rally as a “manifestation of true love and endorsement by Osun workers.”

“I am overwhelmed by your show of love since I assumed office in 2022. Workers’ welfare remains the number one item on my five-point agenda. Expect more goodies and services. I urge you to collect your voter cards and mobilise your families. Together, let us sustain good governance now and in the future,” the Governor charged.

Today’s endorsement follows the initial done on May 2025 during the workers day by the state workforce.
