Nigeria’s first lady, Oluremi Tinubu, led a delegation of prominent women on a condolence visit to the family of the late former President Muhammadu Buhari in Daura, Katsina State, on Saturday, July 19, 2025.
First Lady Tinubu described Buhari as “a symbol of integrity, discipline, and devotion to Nigeria” and praised his commitment to nation-building and public service.
The delegation included wives of the Vice President, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Deputy Senate President, governors, ministers, service chiefs, and other prominent women.
They visited Buhari’s gravesite, the residence of Alhaji Mamman Daura (a close ally and uncle of Buhari), and the Emir of Daura’s palace.
The Emir of Daura reaffirmed the emirate’s loyalty to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and declared him their preferred choice for the 2027 presidential election.
The visit was a moment of national reflection and unity, with prayers for Buhari’s peaceful repose.
