Segilola Resources Operating Limited, a subsidiary of Thor Explorations Ltd, has launched a new phase of its Livelihood Restoration Programme (LRP) in Osun State, Nigeria.
This initiative aims at promoting sustainable agriculture, reduce environmental impact, and foster self-sufficiency within its host communities.
The program focuses on two major agricultural interventions; Oil Palm High-Yield Seedling Distribution*: 100 high-yield oil palm seedlings and agrochemicals were provided to each of seven beneficiaries.
400 high-yield cocoa seedlings and agrochemicals were distributed to each of 23 selected beneficiaries from the host communities.
The LRP is designed to Strengthen Economic Resilience to enable local farmers to build stronger, more resilient futures through sustainable agricultural practices.

Speaking at the event, Engr. Sikiru Haruna, Senior Mining Engineer at Segilola Resources, emphasized that the LRP reflects the company’s commitment to development beyond compensation, enabling local farmers to establish productive and sustainable farms that deliver long-term economic benefits.
The initiative has received support from local stakeholders, including Nurudeen Bello, Executive Secretary of the Office of Natural and Mineral Resources, who applauded the initiative’s value to the community.
