The 13 passengers of Benue Links who were abducted at Eke in Okpokwu Local Government Area of Benue State have been successfully rescued. A coordinated operation by the police and local vigilantes led to the rescue, with two victims freed on Saturday and the remaining 11 released on Sunday around 4:00 pm at Oando village.

The joint effort by security forces and local vigilantes was instrumental in rescuing the victims.

Youths from Kogi State provided support, increasing pressure on the kidnappers and forcing them to release the remaining victims.

Governor Hyacinth Alia’s provision of logistics and improved security surveillance, including tracking technology, significantly aided the rescue mission.

The rescued victims are currently undergoing profiling before being reunited with their families.

Once profiling is complete, the victims will be handed over to their families, bringing relief to their loved ones.
